Abstract

The objective was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Resilience Scale (RS-14), Spanish version. The study was instrumental. The sample consisted of 542 university students from Lima, aged 18 to 40 years (M = 23, SD = 4.21). The results of the confirmatory factor analysis show a one-dimensional structure (χ2/gl = 2.78, CFI =. 95, TLI =. 94, SRMR =. 03, RMSEA =. 05, IC 90% [.05,. 06]) with saturations greater than. 40 and high internal consistency (ω =. 93). Likewise, convergent validity showed that the RS-14 has a negative relationship with depression (r = -.48, p <. 001), anxiety (r = -.38, p <. 001) and stress (r = -.35, p <. 001) and a positive relationship (r =.47, p <. 001) with life satisfaction. In conclusion, the RS-14 presents adequate psychometric properties to measure resilience in Peruvian university students.
