Producción científica en Scopus sobre el maltrato en el ámbito académico universitario: período 2011-2022

Abuse in higher academic settings generates emotional and academic repercussions, which is why it is necessary to study the scientific activity on this topic in order to systematize the knowledge generated. In this sense, with the aim of analyzing the scientific production on abuse in the academic field in Scopus, a retrospective descriptive research was carried out, where 203 manuscripts published in journals indexed in the Scopus database between January 2011 and 2022 were analyzed. As a result, 88.7% of the reported documents are research articles, the United States is the country with the highest scientific production (26.6%), Spanish institutions are those that stand out with the highest scientific production (Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Rovira i Virgili), Journal of interpersonal violence is the journal with the highest number of publications and Shakila Singh is the author with the highest number of publications on the subject. Finally, the analysis of the network of 93 descriptors allowed to establish 5 clusters with topics grouped in studies related to psychological and gender violence, as well as physical and sexual violence against the female sex. In conclusion, the study of abuse in the academic field has had a significant increase in the last 10 years, however, scientific activity on this topic in universities and countries of the South American university context is very low.
