Item type:Publicación, Adaptation and Validation of a Monkeypox Concern Instrument in Peruvian Adults(2022-09-28); ;Renzo Felipe Carranza Esteban; ;Edison Effer Apaza TarquiChristian R. MejíaMonkeypox is causing great concern in society because of its great infective power and the possibility that it could become a new pandemic. This study aimed to adapt and validate the monkeypox concern scale in the Peruvian adult population (EP-VIR-MONK). An instrumental cross-sectional study was carried out under a non-probabilistic convenience sampling with 779 adults from the three regions of Peru (coast, highlands, and jungle). The instrument was adapted based on an instrument previously validated related to the concern caused by COVID-19 in Peru. Content-based validity was calculated with Aiken’s V coefficient, internal structure with confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability with the omega coefficient. The first evidence of validity of EP-VIR-MONK based on its content, internal structure, and reliability in a sample of Peruvian adults is presented here. Accordingly, it can be helpful for the management of the prevention of mental health alterations resulting from the proliferation of monkeypox in Peru. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publicación, Effect of procrastination and online homework distractors on research motivation and scientific output in Peruvian university students(2025-12-01); ;Renzo Felipe Carranza Esteban ;Ronald Castillo-Blanco ;Susana K. Lingán-HuamánPurpose: This study seeks to examine the relationship between online task distractions, academic procrastination, and students’ motivation toward research engagement and scientific output at the university level. Materials and methods: An explanatory study was carried out with a sample of 489 university students from two higher education institutions in Lambayeque, Peru. The data were gathered through the administration of three instruments: the Research Motivation Scale (MoINV-U), the Online Homework Distraction Scale (OHDS), and the Academic Procrastination Scale (EPA). Results: The findings indicate that online task distractions have a positive effect on the postponement of academic activities (H1) and on students’ academic self-regulation (H3). Similarly, the analysis revealed that academic self-regulation exerts a positive effect on motivation toward research and scientific production (H4), while the postponement of activities showed no significant effects (H2). Conclusion: Structural equation modeling (SEM) confirmed the validity of the proposed relationships, revealing significant effects among the variables, except for the relationship between task postponement and motivation for research and scientific production. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publicación, Propiedades psicométricas de la escala de experiencias de recuperación en trabajadores dependientes peruanos(2023-07-14) ;Óscar Mamani-Benito ;María Celinda Cruz Ordinola ;Mercedes Llacsa Vásquez ;Karina Paola Carmona BrenisCornelia Yajaira Asenjo ZapataINTRODUCTION: After facing a health crisis, it is important for workers to develop recovery experiences; therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the psychometric properties of the recovery experience scale in Peruvian salaried workers. METHOD: A cross-sectional study of 462 salaried workers of both sexes, between 20 and 66 years of age, from the three regions of Peru, who participated voluntarily. The participants were recruited from companies in the financial, tourism, education, health and telecommunications sectors. The survey instrument was the recovery experience scale, which had been previously validated for Peruvian teachers. The internal structure was analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency with Cronbach's alpha (?) coefficient and convergent validity through Pearson's correlation coefficient. RESULTS: The confirmatory factor analysis showed an adequate fit for the original four-factor structure (x2= 141.782, p < 0.001, CFI = 0.981, RMSEA = 0.065 and SRMR = 0.035). The resulting factor loadings were between 0.71 and 0.90 and the internal consistency ? between 0.81 and 0.92. With respect to convergent validity, direct and significant correlations were found between the recovery experience dimensions and the general well-being scale (r= 0.126 to r=0.287). CONCLUSIONS: The recovery experience scale demonstrates validity, based on internal structure, reliability and convergent validity, and can be used in the occupational health management of Peruvian salaried workers. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
