Abstract
The focus of the implementation of the Kangaroo Plan protocol on the knowledge of professionals and students in the Health area, integrates the positioning, importance and its benefits for the newborn and the mother.The kangaroo plan consists of early skin-toskin contact between a woman and her baby, currently approximately 4% to 16% (WHO 2023) of births are premature and low birth weight children, figures that are worrying due to the repercussions they have on society and the family nucleus and the quality of life that these newborns could have taking into account the multiple risks and complications they face.The basic principles of the plan consider warmth, breastfeeding, and attachment position paramount in the management of infants.By applying a survey to a focus group of health personnel on the topic, an observational, transversal and quantitative study was carried out, which shows that at the beginning of the training provided the group has 40.08% of prior knowledge and at the end it performs a new measurement that denotes a 15.75% increase in knowledge, which reaches a total of 55.83% progress.
