Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publicación, Validation of measurement scale for technostress in Peruvian university students(2025-03-18); ; ;Joel Palomino-Ccasa; Stress has become one of the major health issues worldwide, and the mandatory integration of technologies into the educational environment has exacerbated this problem. This situation affects both teachers and students, who often lack the necessary knowledge to use these tools effectively, putting their mental health and emotional well-being at risk across various areas. Over the years, numerous studies have been conducted on technostress in both workplace and educational contexts, analyzing its causes and consequences, as well as psychometric evaluations of instruments related to technological adaptation. This study presents an instrumental design and cross-sectional approach, with 814 Peruvian university students voluntarily participating, consisting of both sexes (451 females; 55%) aged between 18 and 36 years ( M = 25.2, SD = 5.12). The instrument used was the Technostress Questionnaire for University Students (TS4US), initially developed for Chinese university students, which underwent a cultural adaptation process, expert judgment, and pilot testing. The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) of the TS4US versions revealed that the 11-item version maintained the three original dimensions, showing an excellent fit with indices of CFI = 0.982, TLI = 0.975, RMSEA = 0.007, and SRMR = 0.02, along with high internal consistency, with Alpha and Omega coefficients greater than 0.86. These results confirm that the TS4US is a valid and reliable tool for measuring technostress in Peruvian university students. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publicación, Attitudes and Motivation as Predictors of Perception of English Language Proficiency: Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)(2024-11-05) ;Lourdes Quenta-Condori; ;José Lívia SegoviaEnglish is the most widely spoken and written language in the world, so many students have different perceptions of English language proficiency, so there is a need to investigate the predictors of English language learning. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to determine the relationship between attitudes towards learning English and motivation towards English learning under the SEM model as predictors of perception of English language proficiency in Peruvian university students. The sample consisted of 711 Peruvian students from a private university (442 females = 62.2% and 269 males = 37.8%). The questionnaire of attitudes towards learning English, motivation towards English, and socio-demographic questions were used, including the perception of English language proficiency. The proposed model obtained a satisfactory fit. Attitudes towards learning English explain 10% of the perception of English language proficiency, but with motivation towards English as the mediating variable. According to the established criteria, the goodness of fit of the model was confirmed (?2 = 383.78; df =3; p .000; RMSEA = 0.06; AGFI= 0.97; TLI = .97; CFI = .99), which confirms the fact that all the values obtained are acceptable. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publicación, Design of a Scale of Attitudes Towards Gamification in the University Classroom: A Pilot Study(2025-05-21); ;Nataly Susan Saez Zevallos; Jorge Platon Maquera SosaThe objective of this study was to design and validate the Scale of Attitudes towards Gamification in the University Classroom to measure the perception of educators regarding the utilization of gamification strategies in higher education. An initial scale comprising 61 items was developed based on a comprehensive literature review, and content validity analysis was conducted through the evaluation of 8 experts. Subsequently, a pilot test was administered to 34 university professors. Content validity analysis revealed that the majority of items exhibited Aiken V-values within the 95% confidence interval, with the exception of 5 items that necessitated removal. The whole scale demonstrated high reliability values (α = 0.980, ω = 0.982). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publicación, Psychometric Properties of the Motivation Towards English Scale in University Students(2024-01-05) ;Roman Hruška ;Lourdes Quenta-Condori ;José Lívia Segovia; Motivation is one of the necessary components for learning and mastering English as a foreign, second, or additional language in places where English is not the native language. For this reason, a review of the instruments used to assess motivation towards English has been carried out, which shows that only a few instruments have good psychometric tests. Therefore, the main objective of the present study was to assess the validity and reliability of the Motivation towards English Scale. The total sample size was 541 undergraduate students, of whom 41.4% (n = 224) were male and 58.6% (n = 317) were female. Analyses indicated that the internal structure of the scale provided a good fit to the two-dimensional model with RMSEA= .06; GFI= .98; CFI= .97, TLI= .95, and SRMR= .07, and factor loadings ranging from .643 to .797. Reliability for the first factor Alpha and Omega was .835 and for the second factor a coefficient of .77 for Alpha and Omega. The study demonstrated adequate psychometric properties of the Motivation towards English Scale, making this instrument reliable, useful, and concise.

- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
