Didactic strategies in the thesis advising to develop research competencies: perspectives of teachers and students

The objective of the study was to systematize research on research competencies in scientific literature among university students. The methodological design used was a theoretical and systematic review. The search explored four databases following the PRISMA statement (Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and SciELO), and 2999 articles were found, of which, after the eligibility criteria, 25 were systematized. The results indicate that we worked with a sample of 6002 students, mostly women, who belonged 56% undergraduate and 24% postgraduate. Similarly, it was observed that about 47% of the students demonstrated a high level of research competencies, while about 50% showed a moderately developed level. It has also been revealed that there are variables related to research skills, such as social factors, digital skills, attitude toward research, motivational factors, and teaching strategies. Based on these findings, three dimensions (cognitive, attitudinal, and technological) were established with their respective indicators for the measurement of these competencies. In this sense, valuable information is provided to improve research training and practice in higher education, highlighting the importance of addressing specific aspects to promote a better development of research skills in students.

Introduction. Artificial intelligence (AI) today plays an important role in university education; in that sense, the objective of this research is to analyze the scientific production on AI in university education under a bibliometric review in Scopus and Web of Science (WoS). Method. A bibliometric analysis was carried out, where 895 documents published in journals indexed in the Scopus and WoS databases were analyzed. The terms ‘artificial intelligence’, ‘computational intelligence’, ‘AI’, ‘university education’ and ‘university’ were applied as terms, and the Boolean operators AND and OR were used for both databases. Results. We found 848 documents in Scopus and 48 in WoS. China is the country with the highest scientific production. Brain-Broad Research in Artificial Intelligence, Neuroscience, and Education Science are the journals with the highest number of publications in WoS, while in Scopus they are Journal of Physics Conference and Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing. Regarding the thematic area, it was found that the highest production corresponds to computer science. In terms of affiliation, the authors belong to institutions in China, and the article with the highest number of citations is “Neuropsychological Bases of Self-Improvement of Own Physical Health of Future Teachers in the Course of University Education”. Conclusions. It is necessary to continue research on AI and its implications in university education due to its relevance in the teaching-learning processes and the interdisciplinary innovation that provides tools to reinforce knowledge.

INTRODUCTION: Financial health is related to the overall health of an individual and their family. The objective of this study was to evaluate the scientific production on financial health in the Scopus database for the 2011-2022 period. METHOD: Scoping review of manuscripts published in journals indexed in the Scopus database between the years 2011 and 2022. The following search terms were used: "Financial obligations", "financial inclusion", "family economy", "financial education", "financial literacy", "financial wellness" and "financial stress", which were entered in the Scopus search engine together with the Boolean operators (AND, OR). Results: A total of 6 940 publications were identified, of which 81.95% were original articles. The United States was the country with the highest scientific production (35.5%). We identified a trend of increasing number of papers during the study period, especially from 2016 onward, with an 860% increase in 2022 (n=1429) with respect to 2011 (n=165). The journals with the highest number of publications were Sustainability (Switzerland) and the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning (USA). Finally, the key search terms with the greatest yield were "financial inclusion" through the use of technology, "financial stress", "financial education" and "financial health." CONCLUSIONS: Research on financial health has increased significantly. The new knowledge on the subject is mostly driven by authors and institutions from the United States, and finally, there is evidence of an increasing trend of pulbications related to financial inclusion and financial education.
