Item type:Publicación, Self-Esteem and Family Communication as Predictors of Satisfaction with Studies in University Students from the Southern Region of Peru(2025-01-20) ;Victor Canqui; ;Óscar Mamani-Benito ;Ronald Castillo-BlancoFamily and personal factors play an essential role in the satisfaction with the studies of university students. In this sense, the objective of this research was to determine if self-esteem and family communication predict satisfaction with studies in university students from the Puno Region, Peru. The methodology consisted of a cross-sectional and predictive design; 538 Peruvian university students of both sexes participated (69.1% men and 30.09% women) in 2022, whose ages ranged between 17 and 37 years (M = 20.43 and SD = 3.22). The instruments used were the Rosenberg self-esteem scale, the Olson Family Communication Scale (FCS), and the Merino Satisfaction Scale with the study. The results show that the proposed model had a good fit (X2 = 582.26, df = 224, p < .001, TLI = 941, CFI = .948, RMSEA = .055, RMR = .041), evidencing that self-esteem and family communication significantly predict (p < .001) satisfaction with the studies. In the discussion it is observed that self-esteem and family communication are significant predictors of satisfaction with studies in university students. Therefore, strategies to improve satisfaction with studies should be aimed at improving the self-esteem and communication of university students. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publicación, Design and validation of a scale of motivation for scientific publication in Peruvian university professors (MoSCPU-UP)(2024-09-05) ;Renzo Felipe Carranza Esteban ;Óscar Mamani-Benito; ; Isabel Cabrera-OroscoThe study’s objective was to design and validate a motivation scale for scientific publication in Peruvian university professors (MoSCPU-UP). Instrumental research where a scale of 13 items distributed in 2 factors (Intentional State and Commitment-will) was designed and validated. The sample comprised 546 university professors (62.1% male) aged 22 to 67 ( M = 45.05 and DS = 9.32). The sample was separated into two subgroups for the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. For analyzing the validity of evidence based on the content, the Aiken V coefficient was used; for construct validity, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was used. Reliability was studied through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The results show that the items received a favorable evaluation (Aiken’s V > 0.70). Goodness of fit indices were adequate (IFC = 0.93, TLI = 0.92, and RMSEA = 0.08). Likewise, the correlation between factors 1 and 2 was significant ( p < 0.05). Evidence of validity based on the relationship with other variables with measures of professional self-efficacy is significant and acceptable reliability ( α = 0.91; 95% CI = 0.89–0.92). In conclusion, the MoSCPU-UP scale is an instrument that reports evidence of validity and reliability. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publicación, Self-efficacy and academic commitment as predictors of digital skills in peruvian university students(2025-07-14) ;Roel Dante Gómez Apaza; ;Marleny Huanca GalindoDigital skills are essential for university students' academic and professional development as they face an increasingly digitalized environment. These skills have become an essential requirement in the educational and labor fields. The study aimed to determine how self-efficacy and academic engagement predict the digital competencies of university students. Using a quantitative approach, the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-Student were applied; the sample consisted of 650 university students between 18 and 50 years of age, and a structural equation model analysis was conducted. The results confirmed that academic self-efficacy and engagement are significantly related to digital competencies. However, self-efficacy had a more substantial influence (β = .51, ρ < .001) than engagement (β = .08, ρ < .05). In addition, the resulting model presented adequate adjustment indices χ2 (153) = 13007.9, ρ<.001. CFI = 1.00, RMSEA = .000, SRMR = .030, allowing the acceptance of the study hypothesis. In conclusion, self-efficacy and engagement predict, on average, 26.65% of the variability of digital competencies. This finding suggests that university decision-makers should consider these factors when designing educational strategies that adapt to the needs of a digitally advanced academic environment and expand the processes of digital competencies. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
